Ms. Saffos has worked at Marstel-Day for two years and serves the Cultural Resource Department as a Cultural Resource Specialist. Ms. Saffos has worked on Phase I, II, and III archaeology projects including for state and federal agencies. She manages the archaeological lab at Marstel-Day, and she has curated collections for the DoD, and Veteran's Affairs and has worked with archaeological repositories in Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., and California. She has also provided additional support in the form of architectural surveys as well as archival research. Ms. Saffos' work includes compliance support for the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Prior to working at Marstel-Day, Ms. Saffos worked as a field technician for AECOM and Ottery Inc. as well as an archaeological researcher for the Center for Historic Preservation at the University of Mary Washington where she studied the lives of enslaved individuals at Sherwood Forest Plantation in Stafford County, Virginia. She obtained her BA in Historic Preservation at the University of Mary Washington in 2015.
