Ross Rasmussen is currently working on conducting a long-term avian monitoring study of both breeding and migratory birds. Point counts, strip transects, and area search surveys data is being collected and then compared to past years. These surveys also focus on identifying presence/absence of federal and state-listed species.
Ross has a wide range of experience in avian and threatened and endangered species surveys, biological assessments, NEPA, integrated natural resource management plans, habitat mitigation and planning, and analysis of avian radar data for wind farm development and bird aircraft strike hazard assessments. He has worked in the environmental consulting field for nearly 35 years and conducted studies for both government and private clients.
Ross graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, School of Natural Resources with a B.S. in both Natural Resources Management and Fisheries Management. He has published articles concerning avian and fish species.
