As an on-call technical editor with Marstel-Day, Alvin Malpaya is responsible for reviewing, editing, and writing various communications materials, including executive-level briefings, studies, reports, press releases, campaign plans, policy directives, videos, and announcements.

He has more than 10 years of communications experience across multiple sectors of the federal government—including the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, the Intelligence Community, and the Department of Education—as well as several years of experience in the private sector. For the Peace Operations Training Institute, he specialized in editing United Nations training materials on subjects such as humanitarian aid in peacekeeping, mine action and explosive hazard management, and Ebola virus precautions for peacekeeping personnel. He also recently served as an editor for Accelerate Learning and Rice University, where he edited K-12 curricula on STEM topics, including climate, positive and negative human impact, and ecosystem basics.

Alvin holds Master of Arts in English and received a Certificate in Editing from the American Copy Editors Society (ACES) in 2016.
