Obama Administration Executive Order Advances High Road Workplace Policies

The Obama administration issued an Executive Order September 30th directing companies doing business with the federal government to provide paid sick leave and equal pay to their employees.  ASBC member, Rebecca R. Rubin, President & CEO of Marstel-Day, LLC presented on a White House conference call explaining the positive impact the order will have on the business community.

Rubin, along with administration officials, discussed two new Administration actions. First, the DOL finalized a rule requiring employees of businesses on federal contracts to earn up to seven paid sick days per year. Second, the EEOC published its final collection of summary pay data by gender, race, and ethnicity from businesses with 100 or more employees to improve enforcement of our nation’s equal pay laws.
