As a full-time GIS intern Mr. Roy geospatially represents encroachment data for compatible land use surveys and assists with the creation of project timelines.
While born and raised in Florida, Mr. Roy has lived all around the United States, including Washington, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and now Virginia. His most recent conservation work was for the Washington Conservation Corps, a volunteer Americorps program that focuses on Environmental Stewardship. Mr. Roy has also been a Seasonal Park Ranger for the Colorado State Parks, helping to enforce rules designed to protect habitat while still allowing the parks to be enjoyed by the public for recreation, hiking and other activities.
Mr. Roy graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor degree in Forest Resources and Conservation, with a specialization in Recreational Resource Management. Later, he pursued a GIS certificate from the University of Denver, which was obtained in the summer of 2014.
