Ms. Powell applies her in-depth and broad expertise in environment, sustainability, and natural resource management programs and in environmental consulting to proposal management and business development for Marstel-Day. She develops new environmental business opportunities, maintains client relationships, and identifies ways to diversify Marstel-Day’s client base and service offerings.
Ms. Powell has over 25 years of experience providing environmental consulting services to federal clients, and she offers expertise in water management, energy, and climate adaptation, as well as in environment, sustainability, and natural resource management programs. Prior to joining Marstel-Day, she was the president of The Powell Group where she served federal contractors in the energy and environmental fields by providing strategic consulting and guidance on environmental and energy programs, market direction, and potential business opportunities. Ms. Powell previously worked at several environmental consulting firms in the Washington, DC area, serving as director, federal environmental programs, for one company, providing strategic and technical oversight of its environment and sustainability market, managing relationships with high-profile environmental clients, and conducting all aspects of business development and management. Ms. Powell has provided leadership, program, and quality oversight, and technical direction to environmental policy, sustainability, net zero, emerging contaminants, green procurement, environmental compliance, stormwater management, energy and water security, environmental restoration, munitions, climate adaptation, and natural resource management projects and programs executed for a variety of federal clients.
Ms. Powell has a BS in public administration from Virginia Tech and an MPA in policy analysis from the Pennsylvania State University where she specialized in environmental policy. She has a certification as a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute, and has served on the board of directors for the Women’s Council on Energy and the Environment.
