We identify how our clients’ operations and investments are being affected by climate risk factors, benchmark best business practices, and create detailed adaptation plans designed to ensure greater resiliency in the face of climate-change related disasters and disruptions.

Having demonstrated critical value for America’s armed forces – those entrusted with ensuring America’s national security and global stability – Marstel-Day is now making these same strategies available to commercial clients, helping them gain a competitive edge in an era where the ‘new normal’ is climate uncertainty. Through climate risk analysis and planning, Marstel-Day helps businesses achieve a higher level of decision-making confidence that will pay off in both the short and long-term.

A Marstel-Day Success Story

Marstel-Day’s ongoing efforts to support a major U.S. federal government client’s encroachment management challenges include exploring the nexus of diverse issues, such as energy and climate change. Energy compatibility and availability present a high-level encroachment challenge for many client locations. Identifying trends in these areas across multiple locations led Marstel-Day to assist with the establishment and execution of several renewable energy Mitigation Response Teams in coordination with our client’s activities in these areas.

Each Mitigation Response Team strives to discuss all stakeholders’ positions and execute solutions and to proceed with proposed energy infrastructure construction while protecting the operational interests and needs of the client. As an example, one successful Mitigation Response Team assessed the development of tax incentives to encourage renewable energy development in an area that would not cause adverse impacts on our federal government client. These tax incentives help reduce our country’s carbon footprint because renewable energy produces a smaller footprint than traditional energy sources. This win-win solution for our client, the renewable energy developers, and our country, highlights Marstel-Day’s commitment to interweaving climate change into all aspects of its intellectual framework.
