  • Marstel-Day is intimately familiar with environmental laws and newly promulgated federal, state, regional and local Environment, Safety and Occupational Health (ESOH) regulations, policies and codes with which property transferees must comply. We understand the intricacies of environmental regulatory programs and the unique challenges of conserving sensitive habitats when remediating environmental contamination.

In the field of conservation consulting, we specialize in the conveyance of excess and surplus federal property for permanent conservation or recreational reuse, thereby helping to realize the potential for these underutilized assets to be transformed into land of permanent conservation value.

We also evaluate the effectiveness of existing and proposed property conveyance mechanisms. This includes analyses of the timing of transfers, cleanup strategies, legal liabilities, existing disposal authorities and their limitations, interim ownership, and the use of environmental insurance to facilitate conveyances.

We are a diverse group of thinkers, planners and strategists driven by one common goal: providing our clients with top-quality services and products in a timely and professional fashion. We have demonstrated success in resolving one of the most intractable problems facing the Federal government through thorough analysis, creative thinking and careful facilitation. Our ability to bring together parties with competing interests and devise a strategy that generates a mutually satisfactory result enables us to resolve difficult conservation challenges of the 21st century.

We have a comprehensive knowledge of federal real estate law and associated property conveyance and acquisition policies and processes, liability management, and land conservation mechanisms and organizations. We also have expertise in federal legislative processes, military planning and operations, and environmental policy.

We are registered on the GSA schedule to provide the full range of environmental services, and have extensive networks in the Brownfield redevelopment, sustainable development, technical remediation and conservation communities that allow us to address a wide variety of client challenges.
