Lauren Stanitski is a NEPA Planner who currently supports environmental planning, strategic defense, and land and water conservation projects at Marstel-Day. She assists in preparing NEPA documents, including but not limited to, Finding of No Significant Impact statements (FONSIs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs). She also completes research for and aids in the preparation of Socioeconomic Impact Assessments (SIAs) and Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA) Consistency Determinations. In addition to document preparation, she helps facilitate public involvement and stakeholder engagement for projects mainly through coordinating in-person and virtual scoping meetings and agency letter production. Prior to joining Marstel-Day, Ms. Stanitski held several research, policy, and outreach-focused positions at environmental organizations across the Fredericksburg and Charlottesville, Virginia areas. These positions cemented her passion for environmental compliance.

Ms. Stanitski holds a BA in Environmental Thought & Practice with a minor in Government from the University of Virginia. While in university, she took a project-based Sustainability Leadership class that inspired her to launch Mobile Sustainability Advising - a series of walk and talks in which students could meet with like-minded professors in a non-intimidating, non-time consuming setting. She also traveled abroad to Copenhagen to learn about sustainable development in Northern Europe. For her capstone project, she researched and analyzed sustainable cities around the world and compiled a “sustainable cities portfolio” with reports on the successes and lessons of each one.
